Phantom Eye
Phantom is known to be one of the most unique traits in gargoyle geckos. It is typically only seen in adult geckos over 3 years old. These geckos are born with light colored eyes and change to near black as they age. Phantoms can have two black eyes, one black eye, two dark gray eyes, or one dark gray eye. When both eyes turn black, it is considered extremely rare. So, if you ever come across a gargoyle gecko with those striking black eyes, you’ll know it’s a rare and special individual!
